Hey, Chris Brown! We’ve got a line on a great new post-prison gig for ya, and it comes from an unlikely source: none other than LaToya Jackson! Yep, the middle Jackson sister was interviewed recently, and when the topic turned to a possible biopic about her late brother Michael, she had a few people in mind, including Chris himself… but with a few stipulations.
First of all, it should be noted that LaToya doesn’t really think anyone could do MJ full justice in their portrayal, considering how talented he was. “He was just the most incredible, incredible, talented artist that I don’t think there will ever ever be another artist as talented as Michael,” LaToya explained to HipHollywood this week. Preach!
But the Life with La Toya star did eventually play along and come up with some potential contenders for the role. Her first suggestion? Surprisingly, the slightly mini Bruno Mars! LaToya says that “although the stature’s not as tall as Michael,” Bruno is “a very talented young person,” and we have to agree. One comment, though: Would the “Treasure” singer’s Filipino-Puerto Rican-Jewish background really fit for African American Michael?
If not Bruno, LaToya also offered up the “extremely talented” Chris Brown, but she says he will have to “lose a lot of weight” for the transition into MJ. “Michael was very thin. He was like one hundred and something pounds — like 15 or 20!” she explained. Eek! Not sure we want to see Chris that size, but hey, anything for a role (within reason, of course).
Do you think Chris could pull off the Michael role? Sound off in the comments below!
