The “My Heart Will Go On” singer shared similar feelings about the new partnership.
“I know Gwen very well,” she said during the interview. “I know her career. I know how beautiful she is all the time.”
The seven-time Grammy winner then took to Twitter to express her excitement at the matchup.
“Very excited to join @gwenstefani on @NBCTheVoice as #TeamGwen’s advisor for Battles!” she wrote.
This is the “Hollaback Girl” performer’s fourth season on the show. She was a coach for Seasons 7 and 9 and then returned in Season 10 as an adviser for her beau Blake Shelton’s team.
For Season 12, the couple will be facing off again as coaches, along with Adam Levine and Alicia Keys.
The Voice Season 12 premieres Monday, February 27 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
