The Ricktator himself, Andrew Lincoln (Rick Grimes), will be on Talking Dead after this Sunday, March 30’s Episode 16 finale. After that March 23 announcement, Chandler Riggs (Carl) tweeted to “Nerdist” — aka Talking Dead host Chris Hardwick — writing, “you should have me on next week!”
Chandler re-tweeted a ton of fan support for the idea of having father and son Grimes boys on the Talking Dead couch. Unfortunately, the plan was given a “DENIED” stamp by The Powers That Be. As Chander updated on March 25, “AMC says NO TALKING DEAD for me-thanks everyone for your support & requests!@nerdist#ClosedInvitation.” Ouch. A fan wrote to him, “That's too Bad, Maybe they will change their minds for next season.” Chandler replied, “yep- no worries. Just that I was in town already.”
Poor Chandler, but they must plan these things out well in advance. Hopefully they don’t want to focus so much attention on Andy because something particularly awful (death!) happens to Rick. A major cliffhanger is coming, the finale will be “savage,” Rick will face sheer “brutality,” and the Rick that comes out of this finale is meant to “shock people.” Eek. It does make us a little nervous to have Andy solo, but if Rick was going to die (we don’t really think that’s happening) they probably wouldn’t promote his big appearance on the after-show. They’d keep him as a surprise guest.
Are you disappointed that Chandler and Andy won’t both be on Talking Dead? It would’ve been great to have a huge Team Prison reunion on there, with tons of cast members.
The Walking Dead Season 4 finale airs Sunday, March 30, at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
