Chandra Wilson Stars in Kickstarted Short Film Muted — See the First Pics!

While Chandra Wilson has portrayed a mother in distress a few times on Grey's Anatomy, none of Bailey's parental traumas compares to those of Chandra's character in the new short film Muted.

As the synopsis attests, Muted is also an important film, highlighting the frustration families of non-white missing persons experience.

Chandra plays Lena Gladwell, "a mother whose world is shattered when her teenage daughter Crystal disappears … Expecting the full support of law enforcement and local media, Lena quickly learns the painful and tragic lesson that all missing persons are not created equal."

The film — directed by Rachel Goldberg — also stars Brandi Ford (who wrote the film), Danièle Watts, Tara Tomicevic (who's also a producer), Ross McCall, Jorge Luis Pallo, and Malcolm-Jamal Warner.

Having been successfully funded through Kickstarter last summer and filmed last fall, the film recently premiered at the American Black Film Festival, where it won the HBO Short Film Competition, meaning it will air on HBO and HBO Go in February.
