Congratulations are in order for Grey’s Anatomy’s Chandra Wilson (Miranda Bailey)! Next month, Chandra will be honored with an award from her home state: Texas!

According to Culture Map, Chandra has been chosen as a recipient for 2015’s Texas Medal of Arts Award in the category of television. Is it really that surprising, though? She kicks TV butt as Bailey every week, and we believe she’s more than deserving of the honor.

The ceremony, which will also honor celebrities like Dan Rather and Jamie Foxx, will take place in Austin at the Long Center of Performing Arts on February 24 and 25. It sounds like a pretty awesome event — it includes lunch, awards, and a fancy dinner, and appearances by all kinds of important people like Troy Aikman and Laura Bush.

In the past, the Texas Medal of Arts Award has been given to a lot of worthy recipients, so Chandra’s in good company. We’re talking people like Eva Longoria and Willie Nelson — this is a big deal.

Of course, we absolutely adore Chandra and the work she’s done as Bailey, who’s come to be one of the most beloved characters on Grey’s. She should be proud of everything she’s accomplished, and we can’t wait to see her on our TV screens again when Grey’s finally returns for the rest of Season 11 next week!

Congratulations, Chandra!
