He may have bailed on the Fifty Shades of Grey movie adaptation, but Charlie Hunnam seems to have no ill will toward the project — or to Jamie Dornan, his heir to the role of Christian Grey.
A TMZ photographer caught up with the Sons of Anarchy actor in a parking lot as the latter suited up to ride his shiny Harley-Davidson chopper. (We guess motorcycle-riding is sort of a prerequisite for actors on that FX drama!)
"Jamie Dorian," the photographer misspoke at the start of his impromptu interview. "Do you know him personally?"
(Maybe the pap got confused by Oscar Wilde's The Picture of Dorian Gray… Get it? Dorian? Gray? OK, fine, maybe not.)
"Uh, no, I don't. I don't," the 33-year-old actor responded. "I'm sure he'll do a great job. I don't really know his work, but I know Sam [Taylor-Johnson], the director, is amazing … She has fantastic taste, so I'm sure he'll do a great job."
The videographer then asked who Charlie would like to see as Christian, and Charlie answered deferentially: "I'm sure she made a great choice."
The TMZ dude tried to squeeze in one last question about the casting for Anastasia, but Charlie had already revved up and was driving off, saying, "Have a good one. See you later!"
Seems like that Englishman is a polite ol' chap, even when faced with silly questions!
