Chaz Bono Used What Drug For “Life-Changing” 71-Pound Weight Loss?
Chaz Bono exuded confidence on Dancing With the Stars, and now that trend is continuing into his everyday life. After shedding 71 pounds, the 44-year-old is happy, healthy, and “looks and feels fabulous,” according to In Touch Weekly.
The transgender reality star kicked off his weight loss journey in November 2012 after appearing on CBS’ medical talk show The Doctors, and now, eight months later, his endocrinologist Dr. Eva Cwynar is revealing how he did it. Surprisingly, it was thanks to drugs — but not in a bad way.
“I was looking to balance the hormones and what would be easy for him [to maintain]. That’s why I suggested Qsymia. It’s a drug, newly approved by the FDA for the chronic maintenance of obesity,” she explains, adding, “It modifies his eating behavior in conjunction with exercise.”
Now, Chaz is 182 pounds, a huge drop from his starting weight of 253. This change has not only impacted him physically, but emotionally. Not only does he confident in what he sees in the mirror, but that face is always smiling back. “He’s smiling all the time — he’s energetic, happy and motivated,” she dished. “This has been life-changing for him!”
