Pregnant Chelsea Clinton Leaves NBC News Job For Other Work and Motherhood
It looks like Chelsea Clinton might be nearing her due date soon! The 34-year-old just announced on Facebook that she is bidding farewell to her correspondent position at NBC News — a job she’s held for three years now — in order to focus on other opportunities, and of course, prepare for motherhood.
“I am grateful NBC gave me the opportunity to continue this important legacy. To continue focusing on my work at the Clinton Foundation and as Marc and I look forward to welcoming our first child, I have decided to leave my position as a NBC Special Correspondent.”
Chelsea went on to highlight her memorable moments at the job, citing that “It’s been a privilege to be part of the NBC Family.” She adds, “While my role with NBC News may be coming to an end, I look forward to working with the NBC family well into the future.”
The former First Daughter went on to explain to People that both she and her husband, Marc Mezvinsky, are looking forward to “welcoming our first child.” We’re sure the same goes for Former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who will be first-time grandparents!
The couple, who married back in July of 2010, are waiting to find out their baby’s gender, and in the meantime are hitting the books in preparation to becoming first-time parents. A source adds, "They're very happy and excited” about their bundle of joy.
Chelsea broke the news of her pregnancy back in April during Clinton Foundation’s No Ceilings conversation series in New York City saying, “Marc and I are very excited that we have our first child arriving later this year. I certainly feel all the better whether it’s a girl or a boy that she or he will grow up in world filled with so many strong female leaders.”
