Cheryl Burke: DWTS Finals Will Be Amy Purdy vs. Meryl Davis

Two-time Dancing With the Stars pro champ Cheryl Burke sees two Olympians making it to the end of Season 18 — although it may not be the two medalists many fans predicted when the cast was announced.

Meryl Davis and Charlie White entered the season as the world’s most lauded ice dancers, and Vegas put them at the top of the odds to win the spring 2014 season. But Amy Purdy is also an athlete, and with the seemingly unstoppable power of five-time winner Derek Hough behind her, she’s proven to be quite a contender.

Last week, eliminated couple Cody Simpson and Witney Carson said they were rooting for Amy to win. It sounds like Cheryl is of the same mind.

Cheryl and Drew Carey were on Good Morning America the day after their Week 6 Party Anthem elimination, and GMA asked Cheryl who has the best shot to win this puppy. "Right now I think it's going to be between Amy and Meryl," Cheryl said. "I think it's going to be really tight between them. It just changes every single week. But, I mean, how can you not vote for Amy, honestly? I mean, what she's doing? It's incredible. It brings tears to my eyes every time I watch her dance."

This week we had a few tears for Meryl, who took her partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy’s hand and coached him through his insecurities like the world’s sweetest therapist. That’s worth voting for too, right?

Do you agree with Cheryl that we’re looking at an Amy vs. Meryl showdown, ala Amber vs. Corbin last season? If so, which of those two ladies (and their gentlemen partners) has your vote? If you don’t agree with Amy vs. Meryl, which celebs do you see as the top contenders to win?

DWTS Season 18 airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
