Chinese Baby Dramatically Born During a Tragic Motorbike Accident

It’s said that a baby is born every minute, but witnesses in China were able to see a truly miraculous birth up close and personal recently, when a woman supposedly gave birth during a motorbike accident.

According to the New York Daily News, the miracle newborn, Xiao Zhao, was born while his mother — who was in labor at the time — and father were driving to the hospital in Xiamen Province, China. Tragically, their motorbike was struck head-on by a truck, killing both his mother and father.

Some witnesses at the scene said that the force of the crash actually “ejected” baby Xiao from his mother’s womb, and that the infant went shooting off into the road. Whereas others report that the baby was born immediately after the crash.

In an attempt to explain the incident, a hospital official in Xiamen said, “What we found out from her family is that the woman, a 40-year-old, had gone into labour at 8:30 a.m. and her husband, a 42-year-old man, decided to take her by motorbike to the hospital rather than waiting for an ambulance.”

Since this “miracle baby” was found three meters away from his parent’s bodies, it seems like the above might be the true account, even though it’s pretty bizarre. Although he suffered a few scrapes, baby Xiao is reportedly doing well at the hospital. The little orphan will be released into the care of relatives as soon as he is well enough to travel.
