Chord Overstreet Shares a Sample of His Music — Is an Album on the Way? (VIDEO)
There has been talk of a solo album for Glee star Chord Overstreet (Sam) for years now, and although we’ve gotten some original tracks from the 25-year-old every now and then — like March’s catchy tune “Birthday Suit” — we’re still waiting on a full-fledged album from the Nashville native.
The fact that Chord hails from a very musically talented family may help explain what’s taking so long. His father, Paul Overstreet, is a country music singer-songwriter, and older brother Nash is a member of the band Hot Chelle Rae. That’s a lot to live up to; and we're sure that if Chord is, in fact, working on his own album, he’d want everything to be just right.
Still, Chord holds his own on Glee every week, and he recently shared a snippet of his own music in a brief Instagram video which could indicate that an album (or at the very least another track) is on the way. It looks like Chord shot the video himself (we can see him in the reflection) from inside a recording studio, and from what we can hear of the song, it sounds like a slow, almost jazzy tune with a solid beat. There are no vocals to speak of just yet, but we’re sure that’s the next step.
Chord captioned the short video, “Lil sample,” and his Instagram followers are pretty much all in agreement that they love what they hear so far. One admirerer noted that she “can’t wait to hear the rest”, while another succinctly commented, “Love this. Love you.” Those sound like glowing reviews to us!
