Earlier this month Nashville born and bred Chord Overstreet (Sam) shared a sample of a track he was working on in a recording studio and we speculated that new music from the Glee star wasn’t very far off. At the time it was just an educated guess (what else would he be doing in a recording studio?) but now Chord himself has confirmed the great news — new music is, in fact, on the way!
How exactly do we know, you ask? Twitter of course!
On June 6 a fan asked Chord if his upcoming album will have “new stuff” or songs of his we’ve already heard, and we were pleasantly surprised by his answer. “Writing everyday, so lots of new stuff,” he replied. And while new stuff is always intriguing, we gotta say that we’ve also really like what Chord has given us thus far. Remember back in March when he released “Birthday Suit”? We still can’t get that one out of heads.
By June 11, Chord was in full songwriter mode and and hopefully cranking out some huge hits. “Such a blast writing today! Love Nashville. Songs to come fairly soon,” he tweeted. Chord’s got songwriting in his blood (his dad, Paul Overstreet is a country singer and songwriter) so we’ve got high hopes for his forthcoming album.
Plus, Chord can always look to his Glee co-stars if he needs a little help. Lea Michele (Rachel) was the most successful with her album, Louder, released last March, Naya Rivera (Santana) had moderate success with her single “Sorry”, and we’re really pumped about another upcoming album courtesy of Miss Amber Riley (Mercedes).
