Chris Brown to be Released Following Assault Arrest in D.C.

UPDATE (October 28, 2013):

The charge leveled at Chris Brown for an October 27 assault has been reduced to a misdemeanor, various outlets report. The singer will be released from custody.

Later on Sunday, TMZ got an update from law enforcement sources who said the fight started when a woman approached Chris in front of the W Hotel to get a photo with him.

As the photo was about to be taken, two men came over to get in the pic. Chris allegedly said, "I'm not into this gay sh-t, I'm into boxing" and punched the alleged victim. The fight was then "taken to the ground." TMZ was told the other guy never threw a punch. Chris's bodyguard was also there and he was reportedly arrested as well.

ORIGINAL STORY (October 27, 2013):

Details are sketchy at this point, but Chris Brown was reportedly arrested in Washington, D.C. this morning (October 27), after allegedly getting into a fight with a man outside the W hotel around 4:30 a.m.

According to TMZ, Chris is in custody and the man he allegedly attacked is being evaluated in an area hospital.

Law enforcement told TMZ that Chris didn't appear to be under the influence at the time of the alleged fight, and there are no details yet on what may have led to the incident.

However, the site added that Chris was arrested for felony assault, which is a big deal even if you aren't on probation. But Chris is still on probation from his attack on then-girlfriend Rihanna back in 2009. This could potentially land him in jail for a few years.

Chris' team will probably share their side of this pretty soon and we'll see what further action is taken. The drama never ends with this guy!
