Frank Ocean: Chris Brown Used Homophobic Slur Against Me
A new song has us thinking Chris Brown and Frank Ocean won’t be patching up their relationship any time soon. In the track “Sunday,” Frank seems to reference the pair’s heated parking lot scuffle from earlier this year — and claims Chris used a homophobic slur against him.
“He called me f----t, I was just calling his bluff ... Why his mug all bloody? That was a 3-on-1,” goes the lyric on Earl Sweatshirt’s Doris album. Frank continues, “Standing ovation at Staples I got my Grammys and gold.”
You’ll remember Chris chose to stay seated at the 2013 Grammys while the crowd applauded Frank’s win for Best Urban Contemporary Album. Not only did Frank beat Chris in that category, he also took home the award for Best Rap/Sung Performance with Jay-Z, Kanye West, and The-Dream. Chris, meanwhile, went home Grammy-less. Burn, baby, burn.
The award show happened just weeks after Chris, Frank, and respective crews clashed along Santa Monica Boulevard. Although Frank didn’t press charges, the fight led to a lawsuit filed against Chris earlier this week by Frank’s cousin Sha’Keir Duarte.
Although Frank remains private about his personal life, his sexuality has frequently been a topic of discussion. When asked by GQ for December 2012 article if he identifies as bisexual, Frank replied, “I’ll respectfully say that life is dynamic and comes along with dynamic experiences, and the same sentiment that I have towards genres of music, I have towards a lot of labels and boxes and s--t.” Chris Brown, take note.
