Update (June 25, 2014):
Chris Brown has reportedly rejected a plea deal in his Washington, D.C., assault case. He’s now headed for trail; the date is set for September 8.
Original story (April 23, 2014):
Chris Brown’s trial — or lack thereof — for assaulting a man in Washington, D.C., has been pushed back from April 21 to today, April 23, and Chris isn’t happy. According to Hollywood Life, Chris couldn’t be more angry or anxious about his impending court date — especially since he’s spent the duration of his wait in jail.
And when Chris does have his trial today, he’s hoping that when his bodyguard, Christopher Hollosy, makes his statement, he’ll prove Chris’s innocence so this whole ordeal can finally be behind him.
“He’s not happy, he’s been broken, and he’s stuck in jail. This is bulls—t,” a source close to Chris says. “His bodyguard already told police he’s guilty of hitting this dude so why is Chris still in jail?”
The original plan was for Chris to spend the time between his arrest for breaking his probation and the trial in rehab, but Chris has since been removed from the facility after proving himself to be a danger to the other patients. Not the best way to show you’re innocent of a violent crime, Chris. But that might just be us.
“He didn’t have anything to do with this from the jump and he feels this guy is going after him for money and fame and just because he’s Chris Brown,” the insider adds. “It’s nonsense and at the end of the day, he has his freedom and Chris doesn’t. It’s very simple, Chris did not hit anybody!”
It’s okay, Chris — after today, this trial will be a distant memory… depending on whether or not he’s convicted of the crime, of course.
