Chris Colfer Reacts to Glee Ending After Season 6 — Is He Upset?
We’re still having trouble process the fact that our lives will be Glee-free after Season 6 concludes in spring of 2015. Perhaps we’ll get out of the fetal position one of these weeks. But it appears that Chris Colfer (Kurt) is taking the news a bit better than we are.
Chris appeared on The Queen Latifah Show on October 28, and he was of course asked about Ryan Murphy’s recent confirmation that Glee will probably bow out after one more season. We must say, we love that Queen Latifah looks like she’s about to burst into tears as she asks him about the show ending. We’re right there with you, Q!
“I think we’re good,” Chris says about the cast being ready to move on. “I think we’ve known for a while that would probably be the final season for it. The show’s just done so much for so many people that I think it’s okay to conclude. I think it’s good.”
“Especially after the character and the thing’s that I’ve gotten to do on the show, I feel very, very fulfilled,” he continues about the role that has earned him a Golden Globe award, a People’s Choice award, and two Teen Choice awards. “It’s been a very fulfilling experience.”
Queen Latifah asks if this feels like the right time for the show to hang up its fabulous hat. “Yeah, of course,” Chris says. “I got to grow up with the characters, and you got to see them grow up.”
We can imagine that six seasons is a long time for an actor to keep playing the same character, so it’s nice that Chris is excited about what his future holds. And his sentiment appears to mirror that of Naya Rivera, who recently sounded at peace with the show’s end, saying it’s had a “really good run.”
Plus, Chris and Naya can rest assured that we’ll be doing more than enough wallowing about the end of the show for the both of them.
