It’s been a little over a week since Chris Colfer’s (Kurt) Twitter was hacked and we all thought he was leaving Glee (Lea Michele was also the victim of a hacked Twitter just a day later) but he’s still not totally over the traumatic incident.

“It really upset me just because I — probably more so than it should have — because I try to stay out of headlines as much as possible, unless I’m promoting a project that I’ve worked really hard on, so the fact that something like that is probably what I’ll be known for the most, that kid from Glee who got hacked. You know, that’s really upsetting,” he told MTV. “It’s upsetting when you’re forced into headlines like that. You know, you have nothing to do with it.”

We totally understand why Chris is still peeved (and we’re right there with him) but here’s hoping that he eventually uses this incident to his advantage, much like he did when he channeled his experiences with bullies for his bestselling Land of Stories series. “I remember when Glee first started I would state the facts that I was a kid in Clovis, [California], who went to an audition and got this job and I was painted as this Cinderella person and, you know, of course, what they didn’t see was the years of cyberbullying I went through and the people that are really just vicious online because someone else has an opportunity and that wasn’t fun at all,” he explained. “And I was like, this is such good material for the character Cinderella to take a spin on it.”

Chris’ third book, The Land of Stories: A Grimm Warning, was released earlier this month, but he’s hardly the only Glee star with a book (or two, or three) to his name. Chris’ co-star Lea Michele (Rachel) came out with Brunette Ambition earlier this year, and Chris reveals he had a little hand in that project as well. We’ll let him explain.

“I think I helped her pick out the cover because I told her that was my favorite one and then she told me it was called Brunette Ambition and I said I thought that was an amazing name,” he recalled. “I could be lying. I may have had nothing to do with it, but I’ll say I did. Yes, I picked out the cover.”

And there you have it, folks!
