The 2013 Emmy nominations were just announced, and shockingly ABC's The Bachelorette and The Bachelor are up for approximately zero awards. Not only did the franchise fail to get recognized in the Outstanding Reality Television Competition category (that honor went to plebeian shows like Dancing with the Stars, Project Runway, Top Chef, and The Voice –– to name a few), Chris Harrison wasn't nominated for Outstanding Host.
We know, right? Clearly the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences’ Awards Committee (whose members we can only assume are loveless old men who couldn't smell a rose if it was shoved in front of their faces –– SOB) have never seen The Bachelor and Bachelorette, because otherwise they'd know that Chris is the best host on the face of the planet.
Sure, he's barely been featured on Desiree Hartsock's season of The Bachelorette, but if Ryan Seacrest and Cat Deeley managed to earn noms, surely Chris deserves one for his fabulous fashion alone. The menswear, guys! The menswear!
Bachelor executive Robert Mills is just as traumatized by Chris' Emmy snub as we are, and took it to Twitter to say "RT if you love @chrisbharrison and think the Emmys totally F'd him over!"
Chris' response? "Thks @Millsy11374 but it usually takes 12 yrs before a show on network TV gets noticed by #Emmys so next year we're good! #TheBachelor."
We're sensing some sarcasm here. Also, not to be dramatic, but we're currently face-planted in a pile of rose petals sobbing hysterically at the unjustness of it all.
Do you think Chris deserves an Emmy nomination? Hit the comments!
