Someone should follow Chris Siegfried around with a sweeping movie soundtrack. Everything Desiree Hartsock’s fiancé says sounds so sweet and earnest, he deserves an equally moving theme song.
The Bachelorette’s perfect baseball-playing poet just wrote a post in the brand new “Chris’s Corner” section of Desiree’s website. It’s all about how being engaged is not like wearing “an invisible leash” — as some guys might think — instead, it’s “beautiful,” “infinite,” “pure,” and rewarding in so many ways. For example, he writes stuff like this: “Being engaged means that I now know that I am not the most important person in my life, but rather my fiance is and I am her support system just as much as she is mine.”
Cue the music!
In the same post, Chris acknowledges the weirdness of how he and Des got together, since they’ve been engaged for almost as long as they’ve known each other. “While that may seem out of the ordinary or unorthodox, we have grown far closer to one another than if we would have just started dating after the show finale.”
Some people may think that’s a bold statement, he wrote, since he barely knew Des before he put a ring on it. So how does he know it’s true? “Well, I’ve been in many relationships over the last ten years and no other relationship challenged me this way, made me appreciate the other person this much or pushed me to be a better person than the one I am in now with Desiree and for that I know she is the one for me.” Aww! He says sometimes it just takes a reality dating TV show to find The One. If anyone else said that, we’d think ABC slipped them a few bucks. But Chris is just Chris.
If you’re into this kind of sentiment, you should read his full post. It’s covered in warm and fuzzies … or maybe we should call them love sprinkles. Hopefully he and Des go for a TV wedding like SeanCat, just so we can sigh and sob at his vows.
