Chris Soules and his lawyers have been doing everything they can to avoid him going to trial, but it looks like it’s going to happen.

First, their motion to dismiss his felony hit-and-run charges was denied, then the Bachelor 2015 star entered a not guilty plea, and now he’s due in court on July 19 for a jury trial.

And according to a new report, the Dancing With the Stars alum isn’t handling it well.

Just recently, the 35-year-old’s legal team filed a motion for a bill of particulars to identify the Iowa Code components he allegedly violated in his April 24 car accident.

The crash, which left 66-year-old fellow farmer Kenneth Mosher dead, resulted in Chris being charged with leaving the scene of a fatal accident, which could see him spend up to five years in prison.

It will only get worse if it’s proven he was drinking prior to the crash, as initially rumored.

This motion is their final attempt to stop the trial from happening, as the defense team thinks they can prove he didn’t leave the scene until after Kenneth was declared dead.

That seems like a long shot right now, though, and sources say the Iowa native is acutely aware of how bad his situation is.

“Chris is freaking out over his trial and can’t sleep at night,” an insider tells HollywoodLife.com.

The insider continues, “He has no idea how a jury will react to the facts of his case.

“He is looking at up to 5 years in prison and he doesn’t think he can do that kind of time, he feels like it would ruin his life.”

That seems to coincide with the former reality star’s recent (and only) public appearance since the accident, where he appeared very tired and a bit gaunt.

“My sweet customer today," a fan captioned their pic with the farmer at a local car parts shop on May 17.

“If I knew people thought he was in ‘hiding,’ I would have never posted his picture. I am so sorry, Chris,” she later commented.

Insiders claim to have a reason for his uncharacteristically disheveled look in this pic.

“Chris has been stressing out over the entire situation and can’t stop thinking about that terrible evening and all the things he should have done differently,” the source shares.

In the case that he is tried in front of a jury in late July, the Bachelor is holding out hope he won’t be found guilty — for a very specific reason.

The insider concludes, “He is praying that he is not found guilty, cause he can’t stand the idea of being locked away from his life and family for years.”
