Lately we've been so wrapped up in Christina Aguilera's glamazing weight loss transformation that we've overlooked some of her more notable achievements, like the Muhammad Ali Humanitarian Award she received last week. The 32-year-old pop diva of course looked fabulous in a sophisticated LBD by Ronny Kobo, but we were even more impressed with her grace and poise as she accepted the honor.
"I just want to speak from my heart, so sorry if I get a little emotional," Christina started. "I've had a lot of great success, and I've been fortunate enough to win a few Grammys … but from my heart, it really means a lot to be recognized for what's most important to me and that truly is to connect to people on a universal level and use my voice to try and help inspire others to then use theirs."
Xtina held back tears as she recounted her experiences working with the World Food Program, traveling to impoverished nations like Guatemala, Haiti, and Rwanda.
"We're all one," she concluded. "No one's any better than anybody else. Everyone is the same person. We're all connected."
While Christina acknowledged that her job is getting on stage and entertaining people, her main purpose in life is to give back.
"This is what matters most," The Voice coach explained, while praising the man of the hour, Muhammad Ali.
"I was watching the video where it says, 'Muhammad uses the ring as his platform to do greater things,' and it's not all about, I've come to realize, a number on a chart or an award or recognition. It's speaking your truth and speaking from your heart and living as loud and as best we can in our own situation. We're the same person — we're just given different circumstances."
Yes, you are "Beautiful," Christina — both inside and out!
