Christina Aguilera has a serious case of style schizophrenia, and that’s what we love about the pop diva. Her wardrobe choices have been all over the map this season on The Voice but, what’s been most surprising is how demure many of them have been. In fact, there were rumors that the producers asked her to tone down her look and, having a newly svelte and smokin’ hot body, the singer decided to take the advice to heart.

"She is recording a new album that she wants to be a hit, so the new image can't hurt," an insider reportedly told In Touch. "She thinks she looks great and isn't hiding behind 10 lbs of hair extensions."

We love the new, shorter ‘do for the “Say Something” singer, as it seems a bit more polished and fitting for her new, sophisticated style choices. That’s why we were a bit disappointed when we saw that she brought out the hair extensions on last night’s two-hour live finale episode. We prefer the shorter look on Xtina but must admit that the long, flowing blond locks did seem appropriate for the dramatic finale.

For her duet of “We Remain” with Jacquie Lee, Xtina wore a stunning, floor-length fiery red gown to match the color of her protégée’s dress. Red is absolutely gorgeous on Christina, and we thought she looked like the epitome of elegance.

While performing the group number with her fellow coaches of Def Leppard’s “Pour Some Sugar On Me,” Christina wore a sexy ensemble that consisted of a corset top (that certainly showed off her ample cleavage!) and a tight, silver mini-skirt with a bejeweled overlay. While the outfit showed off the fact that she is both fit and voluptous, we much preferred the red gown.
