Grey’s Anatomy’s Chyler Leigh and Family Ride Out Severe Thunderstorm in Bathroom

Though her life may never be as traumatic and tragic as that of her Grey's Anatomy character, Lexie Grey — at least, we hope not — Chyler Leigh lived through scary real-life drama yesterday (June 4).

"Severe thunderstorm last night," she tweeted today. "Spent time in the bathroom with the fam and dog. Lost power 7 hours ago. Praying for those in the path today."

Yikes! Now that she's no longer filming Grey's Anatomy in Los Angeles, we're not exactly sure where Chyler and her family — husband Nathan West and children Noah, 10, Taelyn, 7, and Anniston, 4 — are living.

And she could be nearly anywhere — considering stormy weather ran rampant over the Midwest, South, and Eastern U.S. last night.

Riding out a severe storm in a bathroom is actually NOAA-endorsed protocol, assuming the room has no exterior walls or windows. Of course, the best place to be if tornado conditions exist is underground or in a specially-made tornado shelter.

By the way, if you miss Chyler being on your TV set every week, you're in luck! Her new show, Taxi Brooklyn, premieres on Wednesday, June 25, at 10 p.m. ET on NBC.

In the meantime, we're just glad Chyler's OK! We need her alive and well for all those Lexie-Mark flashbacks Season 11 will (hopefully) feature.

Grey's Anatomy Season 11 airs this fall.
