Watch CJ Harris Sing “Shelter” in American Idol 2014 Rush Week

Much like the earlier parts of this year of American Idol, Season 13 is full of twists and turns that we’ve never seen before. Replacing Vegas Round is the all-new Rush Week, a highly-emotional, intensive round which promises to narrow down our Top 31 to the remaining 13 who will compete for our votes in the finals.

Not all of the contestants will sing for the country, however. As we saw on last night’s stress-inducing episode (February 18), only 10 of the 15 ladies got to take the stage, while the others were sent home brokenhearted. Tonight it’s the guys’ turn to start biting their nails as they wait to see who will get called to the stage.

Next up is 23-year-old CJ Harris, who vows to stay true to his country spirit. Even though mentor and Season 8 runner-up Adam Lambert tries to convince him to style up his look, CJ knows who he is and he’s not going to change it. Will this steadfast and confident attitude come through in his performance of “Shelter” by Ray Lamontagne?

“You’ve got this great mix of Dobie Gray and Jonny Lang blended into this package that’s so original, but you sound like you,” says Keith. “I love where you’re coming from. You’re just a great Alabama boy.”

Will CJ make it through to the Top 13? The choice is up to you! Vote by calling 1-855-4-IDOL-02 or text 2 to 83676.
