American Idol 2014: Watch CJ Harris Perform For a Season 13 Wildcard Spot

We’ve made it through audition cities, Hollywood Round, and the all-new Rush Week — now the moment we’ve been waiting for has finally arrived! It’s time to learn which of the American Idol Season 13 contestants have earned themselves a place in the finals!

First to be announced are the Top 5 Girls and Top 5 Guys which America voted for after watching hours of performances earlier this week. The lucky ten to take a seat on the stools are (drumroll please!): Malaya Watson, Ben Briley, Emily Piriz, Alex Preston, Jess Meuse, Dexter Roberts, Caleb Johnson, Majesty Rose, MK Nobilette, and Sam Woolf.

But those aren’t the only hopefuls that will go on to sing for America’s vote. The judges have hand-selected five of the remaining 10 contenders to sing for a shot at one of three wildcard spots.

First up is CJ Harris, who continues to wow the judges with his bluesy tone and down-home country style. But when he takes the stage to perform a rendition of Sam Cooke’s “Bring It On Home to Me,” he doesn’t exactly live up to the judges’ expectations.

“I don’t know what I should address first,” says Harry Connick Jr. “The fact the band screwed that up or that you screwed that up. It was not a strong start. It was average. I honestly didn’t feel any of the magic.”

Do you think CJ deserves one of the wildcard spots?
