Claire Danes’s Dramatic Emmy Hair Transformation: Is It Real?

Claire Danes's hair veered a little more toward her My So-Called Life A-line 'do at the Emmy Awards, and fans noticed something was off. What happened to her longer locks?

Never fear: Claire had a faux bob, which means all her beautiful hair is intact — just tucked underneath. It's a little more obvious when you're looking for it, but from the front, the transformation is dramatic!

Faux or not, the hair transformation didn't come without its share of controversy, particularly in the fashion press. Us Weekly fashion director Sasha Charnin Morrison tweeted, "I hate Claire Danes hair. Is she speaking to Bruno from Dancing? Omg." Meanwhile, Tom and Lorenzo called it a "gigantic NO" and "Anchorwoman circa 1982." Yikes!

Harper's Bazaar executive editor Laura Brown disagreed: "Faux bobs faux life." Marie Claire tweeted something that's probably closest to our take on Fauxbobgate 2013: "We love Claire Danes, but don't you just want to see her dye her hair red and wear a flannel?"

Her hair wasn't the only stir she caused that night! The voiceover announcer brought Claire to the stage with the tidbit that she's also an "accomplished dancer," causing perhaps even more Twitter snark than her hair did. Reactions to that little nugget ranged from "no one cares" to total curiosity.

Dancer or not, we need to talk about her hair. What do you think? Should she go for the bob full-time, or was this a total miss?
