Claire Holt Dishes About Her “Frugal Friday” With Phoebe Tonkin at Target

It’s no shocker that Claire Holt and Phoebe Tonkin are total BFFs. Not only have they appeared on both The Vampire Diaries and The Originals together, but their friendship goes as far back as them both appearing as mermaids on the Australian drama H20: Just Add Water. Basically these two are inseparable.

In an interview with Just Jared, Claire was asked about a certain time when she and Phoebe went shopping at Target with no cashola in their reserves. Not only was Claire shocked to be asked the question, but she began to reveal one of the funniest stories we’ve heard this year.

“When we first came to America, we didn’t have any money, and we gave ourselves a budget of $50 to go to Target,” Claire began. “Because, every time you go into Target, you know, you end up coming out spending $200 or something crazy and everything you didn’t need.” Girl, we know exactly what you’re talking about.

“Okay, so $50 at Target, that’s it. So we turn up at Target and somehow we’re walking past the doll section of Target, and we see our H2O mermaid dolls in there,” Claire continued. “And we’re standing there, going, ‘We are so broke and we have dolls in Target, what went wrong?’ But yes, we used to have a little frugal Friday where we’d go to Target with $50.” Claire and Phoebe definitely started from the bottom, but now they’re here.

We are still LOLing at Claire’s story, but we have just one thing to say to the Aussie actress: Take us with you next time.
