Clay Aiken in ‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’ — Hear Him Sing!
Season 2 runner-up Clay Aiken is getting Biblical.
The 34-year-old is lighting up the stage in a red wig and rainbow outfit at the Ogunquit Playhouse, as Joseph in Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. His transformation is pretty crazy, and it's definitely interesting seeing Clay in a more dramatic role.
"I like this role because it doesn't make me dance," Clay told the Portland Press Herald last month. "Rehearsals are going quite well. [Other cast member are] learning their difficult dance moves that I don't have to do."
The plot of the show follows Joseph (Clay) as he is sold into slavery by his super jealous brothers and taken into Egypt. But this isn't Clay's first venture into Broadway, he has also played Sir Robert in Spamalot.
Check out a video below of photos of Clay as Joseph while "This is the Moment" plays in the background. That song is not from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat — it's from Jekyll and Hyde — but you can at least see Clay as Joseph and get a taste of what his Broadway voice sounds like.
