Cole Sprouse Reveals What it Would Take to Get Him in Another Twin Role with Dylan
Cole Sprouse has easily become the standout star of The CW’s teen mystery Riverdale — leading fans to wonder when we’ll see the 24-year-old actor share screentime with his twin brother Dylan again.
Turns out there is at least one role that would reunite them.
After sharing the role of Ross's son Ben on Friends and Julian in Big Daddy, the former child actors rose to fame as twin brothers in the Disney Channel’s The Suite Life of Zack and Cody.
But the brothers haven’t worked together since hanging up their child actor capes.
Riverdale showrunners already have their dream role for Dylan Sprouse, though: Souphead Jones, Jughead’s identical cousin. However, it doesn't sound like either brother would be on board.
"That to me is also one of those things that one, I'm hard-pressed to think Dylan would ever say yes to and that I would ever approve of," Cole told E! News.
“And two, that wouldn't break fourth wall."
“Something Dylan and I really don’t care much for is leaning into the identical twin thing,” the Jughead portrayer told People. “It doesn’t make sense. It’s just cheesy and hokey.”
But just because he disagrees with playing up the twin angle on Riverdale (and most places) doesn't mean Cole isn’t open to co-starring with his brother again. He’s just got standards.
“[B]ut if [David] Lynch came up to Dylan and I and was like: ‘I have this creepy project that involves twins,’ I’d be hard-pressed to think Dylan and I would say no.”
Get on that, David!
Riverdale returns to The CW in fall 2017.
