The actress’s decision to pre-chew her son’s food when he was an infant was widely criticized, not just for the pre-chewing part, but because she also fed him straight from her mouth — baby bird style.

Maddie Ziegler and her mom, Melissa, are known mainly for their appearances in the reality show Dance Moms. Maddie was then cast to be in Sia’s music videos for “Chandelier” and “Elastic Heart.”

While her dance performance in “Chandelier” is mainly harmless, she performs a very controversial routine with then 28-year-old Shia LaBeouf. Considering Maddie was only 12 at the time, her mother’s decision of allowing her to participate in the video has been heavily criticized.

As a parent, the last thing you wanna hear is that your daughter made a sex tape.

For Kris Jenner, though, it wasn’t quite like that. It’s been widely speculated that the person who leaked daughter Kim Kardashian’s sex tape was none other than her mom-turned-manager, Kris.

In fact, she’s said so herself. In an episode of Season 1 of Keeping Up with the Kardashian, Kris says, “as a mom I was furious, but as a manager, I knew I had a job to do.”

Best known as Octomom, Nadya Suleman knowingly had 12 embryos implanted by a fertility doctor back in 2008. From those 12 embryos, eight were viable, resulting in her having octuplets.

Not only was her decision irresponsible because she was a single parent, but also because she already had six other kids — mostly toddlers — at home.

Having 14 kids as a single mom was definitely a challenge, and resulted in the large family needing welfare assistance, and Nadya turning to the adult entertainment industry to support all of her kids.

Having sex with your daughter’s 18-year-old friend could certainly be considered controversial. Especially when you’ve taken both on a trip to Europe and you’re not careful enough to do it without your daughter — who happened to be 13 years old at the time — finding out.

As if that wasn’t enough, in 2008 Ryan and his youngest son, Redmond were arrested while doing drugs together. They were both in possession of crystal meth.

Mama June — Honey Boo Boo’s mom — entered the spotlight on an episode of Toddlers and Tiaras. Her youngest daughter had such a distinct personality, that the family was given their own show.

She’s been extremely criticized for dating a convicted pedophile who assaulted non other than Mama June’s eldest daughter, Anna Shannon, when she was only 8 years old. The abuse took place in 2005, but the pair dated after his 10-year stint in jail.

The Spanish actress follows a very controversial parenting method. The RIE method — resources for infant education — consists of treating everyone since infancy as adults.

No toys or strollers are allowed for the babies, since they encourage a “baby” behavior, apparently. Kids shouldn’t be dressed differently or talked-to differently or do anything different than adults do.

Tobey Maguire, Helen Hunt, and Jamie Lee Curtis also follow the controversial parenting method.

The Fuller House actress has published her own book, Balancing It All: My Story of Juggling Priorities and Purpose, where she describes parenting methods that are highly controversial in this day an age.

Her book includes spanking as a main form of punishment, which has been highly discredited by multiple studies.

The Big Bang Theory star is a follower of the “attachment parenting” method. It’s all about breastfeeding on demand, using slings and wraps instead of strollers, not sleep training, and co-sleeping.

While there’s nothing wrong with this method of parenting, it’s been criticized for resulting in a relationship of co-dependence between mother and child.

Kourtney is also a big fan of attachment parenting. She famously sleeps with her three kids in the same bed, who are 7, 4, and 2.

Ever since her son was diagnosed with autism, Jenny McCarthy has been an anti-vaccinations activist, having the firm belief that it was the MMR vaccine that caused her son’s autism.

The controversial stance was also linked to a study by Dr. Andrew Wakefield, which has since been discredited.

We can probably all agree that Gwyneth Paltrow’s lifestyle is a little different. Her GOOP website usually shares advice that not everybody can relate to — in fact, it’s more likely that only a few people can.

Her different lifestyle also made its way to her parenting decisions. She’s decided to raise her kids, Moses and Apple, on a carb-free diet. And we might be wrong about this, but don’t kids need carbs to keep their energy up? Honest question here.

The model might be gorgeous, but one of her parenting decisions is more controversial than not. Elimination communication is a method in which you potty-train really young kids. Like, really young  — we’re talking months-old infants.

She managed to avoid diapers almost completely by putting her infant son over the toilet about 5 minutes after breastfeeding.

Another of her controversial stances revolve around breastmilk. She is a proponent of breastfeeding, which is great, but she went so far as to say that breastfeeding should be mandatory by law.

According to Gisele, mothers who don’t make enough milk, experience painful breastfeeding, or have to go back to work six weeks after delivery should all be fined or put in jail. Okay, Gisele…

Leah was sorta caught off-guard as a first time mom, lacking enough authority to discipline her 4-year-old daughter.

As a result, her daughter was still drinking between 4 and 6 bottles of milk at night — at night only! — and still wearing diapers, because who could hold their pee all night while drinking so much milk?

The reality star was heavily criticized for drinking a beer while breastfeeding. Not before, not after, but with her daughter actually latched to her boob.

She’s also been criticized for raising her young daughter as a vegetarian.
