Cory Monteith Death: Cousin Asks Fans To Not Judge Autopsy Results

As we all take in the news that Cory Monteith (Finn) died from toxicity involving heroin and alcohol according to the official coroner's report the Glee star’s cousin Richard asks fans to remember all the good Cory gave to the world during his brief 31 years.

“People are going to focus on this last chapter as a bad thing but...his life is full of beautiful stories and triumphs and failures and successes that it doesn’t matter about his problems. It matters about the lives that he changed,” Richard told Canada’s Global News on Monday.

Richard, who last saw his cousin earlier this year, said he was “a beautiful person” who was his “hero.”

“When someone as genuine as him makes it in Glee it was able to amplify who he is to the world. That’s why I’m not the only one mourning and my family’s not the only people mourning,” he added.

On Sunday, Richard stopped by the memorial that has sprung up outside the hotel where Cory was found on Saturday. He placed a bouquet and told reporters Cory’s father was flying into Vancouver later that day.

Cory struggled with drugs and alcohol for most of his life, and, as anyone tuned into the world of entertainment knows all too well, those particular beasts sometimes don’t let go until they’ve claimed the brightest stars.
