Glee After Cory Monteith: Chris Colfer Says It Will Be “Difficult”

The cast of Glee just had their first day back to work after Cory Monteith’s (Finn) sudden and unexpected death last month, and it's clear that Cory’s presence was very much missed on set.

Chris Colfer (Kurt) won’t actually have his first day back to work until later this week — he’s currently on a promotional tour for his new novel, Land of Stories: The Enchantress Returns — so the Glee star can’t say quite yet what the mood is like on set.

But Chris worked closely with Cory throughout much of the first four seasons, so there’s no doubt that this year will feel different for him. Though he knows this year will be challenging, the Glee star tells Entertainment Weekly that he will lean on his co-stars for support.

“We’ve had bumps and dips along the road over the course of the years, but nothing like this. I know we’ve always come together — always — in the past, because we are such a family in the cast and the crew.”

Chris thinks that facing things together will be a positive thing for the cast, but that doesn’t mean things won’t be tough. “But I don’t know. I’m assuming things will be very different, and I’m sure they’ll be difficult at first. But…. We’ll see. I think I’m positive.”
