Lea Michele and Cory Monteith’s Song: She Reveals What It Was!

In Elle magazine’s December 2013 issue, Lea Michele (Rachel) opens up about the death of boyfriend Cory Monteith (Finn) more than she ever has before. The usually guarded actress discussed what it feels like trying to adjust to life after Cory, and even dropped the bombshell that the two had secretly dated before anyone knew they were an item!

Still, Lea firmly maintains the need for privacy; she doesn’t want to share everything with the world. But one fact she did open up about: her and Cory’s song.

Yes, Lea Michele and Cory Monteith had a song. It’s called “You’re Mine,” and the track will be on Lea’s 2014 debut album. It’s a song that speaks to the idea that one person can belong to another for life, according to the Elle article. It talks about how being in love makes a person feel invincible. Anything is possible because you have that other person on your side.

Lea recorded “You’re Mine” before Cory’s tragic July 2013 passing, and now that he’s gone, the words has taken on an even deeper meaning. The Elle writer notes that during the two days Lea was interviewed, her eyes misted up a few times, but it wasn’t until she played her and Cory’s song that the Glee star truly cried.

“It makes me so happy, this song,” she says, smiling through the tears. “It makes me think so much of Cory. It was ours. When I think of him, I play this.”
