Cory Monteith’s Death: Rock Star Glee Has Covered Reached Out to the Cast
Sometimes, people need to go their own way, and sometimes we all need a little support. Now, a rock legend is revealing that she offered the latter to the Glee cast after Cory Monteith’s (Finn) tragic death earlier this summer.
''I said, 'Forgive me if I'm stepping into your personal space,’” Stevie reveals to British magazine Stella. “‘I lost my godson to an overdose last year — he died at a fraternity party — so I understand how shocking that is.’”
Stevie says she was as devastated as the rest of us were when she first heard the news about Cory’s passing. ''When what happened to Cory happened, I just was sick for days,” she says. “Honestly, just sick. It's just so prevalent. It's everywhere. It's worse than when we were young.''
Stevie herself has battled her own drug addictions over the years and feels that it kept her from settling down with her family. ''That was stolen,” Stevie says. “And that's not forgivable, ever ... [But now] I think I am stronger than a lot of people. And I knew then, as I know now, that I still have so much to do.''
We admire Stevie for being so honest about her past and for breaking her own chain of addiction. And we can imagine that the Glee family was grateful for her support.
