Cory Monteith’s Roommate Issues Statement: He Was a Truly Great Friend
In the wake of Cory Monteith (Finn)’s death on July 13, friends, family, and fans have all come together to talk about Cory with great love and respect. The star, who died of an overdose in a hotel room, has been the recipient of kind words from many of his co-stars and several friends.
On July 17, Cory’s former roommate, Justin Neill, issued a statement to Us Weekly about his departed friend. Although Cory passed away in Vancouver, Canada, Justin shared a place with Cory in Los Angeles until the time of his death.
"Cory was a wonderful person and a truly great friend," Justin tells Us. "He was incredibly generous and always wanted his friends to share and experience his passions and interests."
Among those passions and extravagances were snowboarding trips to Mammoth and Big Bear and traveling in Australia. “These are experiences that I shared with Cory and will never forget,” Justin says of their fun times together.
And he’s not the only one who enjoyed the company of the oft-smiling Glee star. Justin left Us with some fond, kind words about Cory. “He loved his friends unconditionally and will forever be in our hearts.”
