Game of Thrones: Could Ned Stark Return? Sean Bean Says…
As any fan of Game of Thrones knows, Ned Stark lost his head at the end of the first season, but could the character make a return? Sean Bean, who portrayed Stark, would like to see it happen.
“It would be nice to come back, if it's relevant to the book, and do a few days,” Sean revealed to Guilty Pleasures. “It would be nice to get to see everybody.”
Ned Stark has been dead for a while now, but it’s possible we could see him in a flashback scene... or maybe something else, according to Sean: “[He could come back] maybe as a zombie or something.”
While a Ned Stark zombie seems far-fetched at this point, GoT has plenty of excuses for life after death. We know the White Walkers have the ability to reanimate corpses, though they’re seriously lacking in personality. The Lord of Light has also shown a knack for bringing back the dead, as he’s done with Beric Dondarrion six times already. Arya even asked Beric and Thoros if the LoL (best abbreviation ever) could bring her father back to life, so maybe she was foreshadowing an eventual resurrection...
OK, probably not. But a flashback sounds like it has potential. The A Song of Ice and Fire book series is rife with flashbacks and dreams about the period around Robert's Rebellion, so it's possible the show will incorporate some of those.
We’ll just have to wait and see. What is dead may never die!
