Teen Mom 2 star Jenelle Evans headed to court this morning — appendix stitches, warped star tat, and all — ready to face two misdemeanor charges of her own. But according to the Carolina beauty herself, her estranged husband Courtland Rogers had his day in court yesterday, July 24, to face heroin possession and simple assault charges stemming from the couple's April 23 arrest.
“Plead guilty to assault on a female and heroin and the rest of the 10 charges he had for dropped,” Jenelle tweeted referring to her former beau.
Courty has been holed up in the clink since late April on those two very charges he pleaded guilty to, but his list of previous alleged offenses is long. Jenelle also accused Courtland of starting a physical altercation with her that resulted in the miscarriage of their unborn child in January.
“Hahahaha TOO FUNNY, and he plead guilty to the heroin charge AND assault on a female. But he was the sober one?!” Jenelle boasted about the outcome, ensuring her fans that she really is clean and innocent.
A “fan” reminded Jenelle that taking a plea bargain is a way to get a lighter sentence and does not necessarily mean that Courtland is actually guilty of those crimes. But as far as Jenelley is concerned, her ex is paying for (at least some of) the crimes he committed.
Prior to his day in court, Courtland had planned to state on the record that none of the 12 bindles of heroin found by police belonged to him (as he was on probation at the time) and instead belonged to his wife, but it looks like his strategy fell through. Though we do not know Court’s sentence yet, it is clear that he will be taking some major heat. And it’s a good thing because our girl is trying to stay clean, sober, and focused on her new man, Nathan Griffith, her adorable son, Jace, and getting an endorsement deal with Olive Garden (unlimited breadsticks for everyone!).
Stay strong, Jenelle!
