On the Pretty Little Liars Season 4 finale, we finally got some big answers about what happened the night Alison DiLaurentis (Sasha Pieterse) disappeared — if you trust Ali's version of the story. That's a big "if."
Pretty Little Liars is a twisty show that constantly pulls the rug out from under us, so every week we like to delve into the world of crazy fan theories that are so out there that they might just be right. This week, we want to examine an idea we've seen several places: That Ali's entire story was a lie, and she wasn't hurt by anyone that night.
The basic idea goes like this: Ali's story was a pack of lies. Someone was after her, and she decided she needed to fake her death, so she hurt another girl so she could fake her own death. It's possible Mrs. D. saw that happen, and actually helped Ali bury the other girl.
Why did this theory catch our attention? Well, for one thing, we're still not sure if we can really trust Ali, so we're always willing to listen up to theories built around the idea that she's still hiding things. Plus, there's the point that the injuries Ali described herself having make it hard to believe she was able to up and walk away from the hospital. Not to mention the fact that, as that Tumblr user cleverly notes, the body the cops found showed evidence of being buried alive. How likely is it that Ali and the girl who actually ended up in that grave were buried alive? Was she adopting the story of what happened to the other girl and claiming it as her own?
Plus, as this Tumblr user reminds us, there was a lot of evidence that Ali was planning to fake her death, which doesn't jive with her story that it hadn't occurred to her until she ran into Mona on the road that night. But maybe that was a lie, too.
What do you think of this theory — is it possible, or totally crazy? Sound off in the comments below.
