Pretty Little Liars Crazy Fan Theory: Mrs. DiLaurentis Was Covering for Wren

As the surprising death on the Pretty Little Liars Season 5 premiere reminded us, this show is always ready to zig when we thought it was going to zag. It's full of twists and turns, and fans have to think extra creatively to keep ahead of the writers. Fortunately, the Pretty Little Liars fandom is more than up to the task, which is why, each week, we like to delve into the wilds of Tumblr to highlight an interesting theory.

This week, we want to talk about a theory that makes a lot of sense to us: That Mrs. DiLaurentis was covering up Ali's "death" for Wren Kingston (Julian Morris).

Why do we like this theory? Well, it pulls together a lot of threads and works well with the popular "Wren is 'A'" theory. So, how does this idea fit together? Here are two of the pieces:

Maybe Wren was the Beach Hottie. The idea that Dr. Wren could be the beach hottie who Ali was so afraid of is a popular one. If this theory is true, it would be easy to see why he might attack Ali that night.

Wren could have dirt on Mrs. D. We'd been assuming that whoever tried to kill Ali that night was someone Mrs. D cares about, and that's why she tried to cover up the murder. But what if, instead, it was someone who had material to blackmail Mrs. D into helping them?

We know Mrs. D is very connected to Radley, and a lot of people think that she might have been the one who killed Toby's mom and if not her, perhaps it was Ali (or Ali's theoretical twin). If that's true, and if Wren knows about it and helped cover it up, it's very possible that she felt like she had to help him hide Ali's murder, not because she likes him, but because he'd expose that truth about her if she didn't.

We even know there's an episode this season called "The Silence of E. Lamb" remember Eddie Lamb? which means that there are plenty more secrets to be uncovered at Radley. Could this be one of them?

What do you think of this theory — is it possible, or totally crazy? Sound off in the comments below.
