Pretty Little Liars Crazy Fan Theory: Toby Has a Twin

On Pretty Little Liars Season 4, Episode 17 (“Bite Your Tongue”) we saw "A" shredding a bunch of documents from the dentist's office, one of which featured the name "C. Cavanaugh" — which many fans linked to the "Chris Cavanaugh" that was listed at the school for the blind's sign out book.

There are a lot of theories about who this mysterious character could be if, indeed, it is an important character at all and not just a random name and today we want to explore one of the most extreme concepts we've seen fans kicking around: That "Chris Cavanaugh" is Toby's twin.

Huh? you may be asking. Where does that come from? Well, there are a couple of factors:

The books. In the Pretty Little Liars books, Alison has a twin (who is the one who was actually killed and buried). The writers and actors have all said that they aren't going to make Ali have a twin on the show, which has led many fans to suspect a different character might end up having a twin, since the writers love to take elements from the books and use them in new ways for the show. So that's why the concept of a twin is popular.

The last name. So far, we've never heard of a Chris Cavanaugh on the show, but based on his last name, many fans think this person may be related to Toby. Perhaps a secret twin?

The body. As this Tumblr user points out, we've never gotten a full explanation for the time Spencer thought she found Toby's body in the woods. Maybe that really was someone who looked exactly like Toby, but was dead his twin.

What do you think of this theory — is it possible, or totally crazy? Sound off in the comments below.
