Pretty Little Liars Crazy Fan Theory: Wren Was the Beach Hottie

We all know Wren Kingston (Julian Morris) is a major hottie does he like the beach, too?

One the biggest questions on our minds headed into the Pretty Little Liars Season 4 winter season is who is the Beach Hottie/Board Shorts (and are they even the same person)? How exactly does this person relate to the current situation?

Every week we like to dive into the world of crazy fan theories to see what possibilities are out there, and this week we want to explore one idea about this Beach Hottie we like a lot. Plenty of people think Ezra is the mystery man, since that would explain why he'd care about Ali, but could it actually be one of Rosewood's other sexy-yet-suspicious men, Wren?

This Tumblr user sums up this theory well, and we'd like to highlight some of the reasons we think this theory might have merit here.

Wren has a proven history of liking younger women. Wren starts the series engaged to the gorgeous Melissa, but throws that away in favor of hitting on Spencer, who, while awesome, is way too young for any self respecting doctor to see as a romantic interest. And, proving that it wasn't just a fluke, he later macks on Hanna even though, again, she's a high schooler while he's a doctor. Could his rather questionable thing for teen girls have drawn him to Ali, too? We don't see why not.

Wren is definitely connected to all this somehow. We've talked before about all of Wren's sketchy behavior, and the end of the Season 4 summer season made it clear beyond a shadow of a doubt that Wren is up to something, and is at least connected to the Melissa, Jenna, Shana group somehow. However, we still don't know why this doc is involved in the intrigue. This would certainly help explain it.

He wore board shorts! One of our favorite things that Tumblr user points out is that Wren actually wore board shorts in the pilot of the show. You know what showrunner Marlene King always likes to say there are no coincidences in Rosewood.

What do you think of this theory — is it possible, or totally crazy? Sound off in the comments below.
