Critics Slam Royal Baby Portraits Taken By Kate Middleton’s Dad (VIDEO)

The official family portraits of Prince William, Kate Middleton, and the newborn Prince George were released yesterday — though not in the way Kensington Palace might have intended — and already the photographs are being criticized.

The Telegraph reports that the photographer in question was none other than Kate's dad, Michael Middleton. The proud grandpa took the portraits outside his house in Bucklebury, England.

But Eddie Mulholland, vice chairman of the British Press Photographers Association and a news photographer for the Telegraph for two decades, is not a fan.

"They are lovely snaps for a grandfather to have taken," he writes, "but in terms of the quality, they are not really what you want for such a historic picture … The photographs are very flat, and there is not a great deal of contrast in them."

What do you think, readers? Do you like the photos, or does Eddie have a point here?
