This week on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Cynthia Bailey came face to face with one of every daughter's mother's biggest fears: a teenage boy. The supermodel mama dealt with her 14-year-old, Noelle, bringing a boy home for the first time. Some may argue that 14 is too young for dating, but Cynthia stands by her decision to embrace Noelle's maturity and meet the kid and his mom.

Cynthia took to her Bravo blog to defend her choice.

"I am very close to my daughter, and I have always encouraged her to talk to me about anything and everything. I believe that as long as I keep the lines of communication open with her, I will always be able to give her proper direction, protection, and guidance," she wrote.

Her bestie, NeNe Leakes, on the other hand, felt strongly that Noelle shouldn't be going out with boys at her age, but Cynthia still feels that she made the right move.

"It's my job as her mother to protect her, but I also have to know when to lengthen the leash. Not take the leash off, just lengthen it a bit! I think that when you shelter your kids too much, they become very overwhelmed when they finally get a taste of freedom! There has to be a balance. You have to protect your kids, but you also have to slowly allow them to grow up," Cynthia theorized.
