In a new interview with S2Magazine.com, Cynthia opens up about the future of the show, and it’s clear she thinks the cast would still have plenty of wind in its sails without NeNe.
“I don’t think ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ is about one person,” says Cynthia, regarding the rumors her co-star won’t be back for Season 7. “It’s an ensemble. It’s always been an ensemble. It’s never been about one person. This is a pie and we all put ingredients in it and that’s what makes it work.”
NeNe certainly gets the most indirect cold shoulder from her co-star, but she’s not the only one displaying behavior that Cynthia is less-than-pleased with. Opening up about the fight between Porsha Stewart and Kenya Moore at the RHoA reunion show, Cynthia says, “The fight was just unfortunate, and hopefully, the last time that’s going to happen on our show. People don’t tune into Atlanta Housewives for the fights.”
Cynthia says that, while her co-stars may want to bring the drama for the subsequent ratings boost, her only hope is to be a positive role model for viewers.
“I always appreciate this platform to show grace and class and integrity and positivity,” says Cynthia.
Are you surprised by Cynthia’s dig about NeNe? Would you watch RHoA if NeNe didn’t return for another season?
