It’s been approximately seven months since Alec Baldwin brilliantly graced our television screens with his portrayal of Jack Donaghy on NBC’s 30 Rock. But word is, he’s returning to the network for a new show, though it’s not what you think.
Alec will not be reprising his 30 Rock role on NBC in a spin-off (even though we had that very dream last night). Instead, he’ll be taking on a brand new job: Hosting an MSNBC current events program, which will air every Friday night.
Of the inspiration for his new job, Alec says "After two seasons of my WNYC podcast, I've developed a fondness for hosting a show that involved talking with smart, talented and engaging people in every imaginable field. I'm grateful to MSNBC for helping me bring a similar show to television."
And he’s not alone in his excitement to join the TV game once again. Phil Griffin, the President of MSNBC, said in a statement, "I've been talking with Alec for a while and can't wait to bring his personality and eclectic interests to MSNBC. He's got such passion for ideas and what's going on in the world — he’s going to be a great addition to our line-up."
The 55-year-old actor certainly has been making a lot of changes in his life recently. Alec and wife Hilaria welcomed daughter Carmen Gabriela on August 23.
Will you watch Alec’s new show? What do you want him to talk about?
