Like father, like son? Maybe that’s a big conclusion to draw but if Justin Bieber’s latest antics are any indication, he takes after dad Jeremy in more than the looks department. A new RadarOnline.com report details the 38-year-old’s rap sheet and it’s not pretty.
The site dug into Canadian court records (remember, the Biebers hail from our ally to the north) and found he’s been arrested for assault multiple times and faced jail time more than once. Radar cites the Ministry of the Attorney General in Stratford, Ontario, as their source for the records, which include a January 24, 1997, incident where Jeremy was arrested for “assault or causing bodily harm.”
He was later sentenced to 90 days in jail, two years of probation, and was prohibited from using firearms for a decade. The information provided by the Ministry (a copy of which Radar includes in the article) lists a number of other such run-ins with the law including two stints in prison for failing to comply with probation and, in 2002, another assault. That last charge, however, was eventually dismissed in 2004.
Radar goes on to claim Jeremy’s return to Justin’s life has led to the series of unfortunate events making headlines of late and led to conflict between the star, his pops, and his manager.
“It’s absolutely no secret that Justin’s manager, Scooter Braun, and Jeremy don’t get along,” a source tells the site. “Scooter has been the father figure in Justin’s life, and then all of a sudden, Jeremy pops back on the scene...look at all the chaos in Justin’s life.”
Of course, you don’t have to repeat your parent’s mistakes just because they’ve re-joined your entourage, and at only 19, Justin has plenty of time to straighten out. Here’s hoping he does!
