We always knew Matthew Crawley (Dan Stevens) was a little wilder than his middle-class lawyering ways suggested. During his Downton Abbey days, he was clearly a man of romance (he carried a tiny stuffed animal from his beloved through the trenches of World War 1), and now it seems the actor behind that buttoned-up demeanor has let loose a little more.

Dan, of course, left Downton at the end of Season 3, much to the chagrin of fans the world over. Since his departure, he’s popped up on Broadway, starred in a couple new movies, and lent his voice to ABC’s Once Upon a Time. Now he’s the star of a new web series called High Maintenance, and it’s a side of Matthew we never thought we’d see.

Playing a stay-at-home father suffering from writer’s block, Dan smokes pot and dresses up in his wife’s clothes to pass the time. The result is photos of Matthew wearing outfits that remind us more of Lady Edith than stylish Lady Mary. Except the high black heels; those are all Cousin Rose.

See snaps from the shoot over at the Radio Times, and let us know if you think apricot is Dan’s color. We’re more partial to the flower printed blouse that so nicely shows off his biceps.
