Partnering with models worked out less well for Alec in later seasons, when he was in the first couple eliminated twice in a row, with Paulina Porizkova in Season 4 and Josie Maran in Season 5. He partnered singer Toni Braxton to eighth place in Season 7 and was paired with Olympic swimmer Natalie Coughlin.
Mazo and his wife — fellow DWTS pro Edyta Swilinska — only turned professional in 2005, having been successful amateur Latin competitors for the previous five years.
