As you've probably heard by now, Dancing With the Stars is facing a huge change come fall: There will no longer be a results show. Is this change ill-advised, or a great call?

We can certainly see why ABC took this tactic. Dancing With the Stars has been dropping in the ratings, and fast; to change nothing would be willfully stupid. For a while, there were rumors that the show was going to be cut back to one season per year. Apparently the execs at ABC decided against that, cutting back the number of hours per week instead.

There's definitely a logic to this choice. If you're in Dancing With the Stars for the competition element only then the Results Shows don't have much to offer beyond the thirty seconds at the end where you find out who's going home. On the other hand, the Results Shows were a place for the show to really highlight dancing talent. The pros and troupe had a chance to show off, while segments like Macy's Stars of Dance and the AT&T Spotlight performance gave other talent a platform to perform on national TV. We're going to miss that.

What do you think: Was this is a savvy move that will help fix the show's problems and, as the ABC execs hope, "drive viewership to Monday night," or is it big mistake that loses a key feature of the show as you know and love it?
