On the Dancing With the Stars Season 16’s Finals (May 20, 2013) , Kellie Pickler and Derek Hough decided to focus their Freestyle less on the flair and flash, and more on Kellie's stellar dancing. Did that strategy pay off?

Derek was apparently very indecisive about what to do for the "supersized" Freestyle, but ended up choosing a stripped down production with very, very tough dancing. The point was to sell it on the power of the dance alone, and Kellie seemed a little nervous about it.

The result was a lyrical, gorgeous dance set to Labrinth's "Beneath Your Beautiful." It felt more Contemporary than anything else, and looked truly professional. There were some insanely breathtaking lifts, Kellie showed amazing artistry, and, honestly, it earned more gasps from our office than any of the big moments values in the other Freestyles.

It. Was. Stunning. And the judges responded. Carrie Ann called it "one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen." Len gave them a standing ovation. Bruno called it a "dance of spellbinding beauty" and "a contemporary work of art."

Unsurprisingly, it earned three 10s, and Len said he wished he could give in an 11. We agree!
